Job Description

Typical duties include but not limited to: Plans and teaches in assigned course(s). Attends course orientation and faculty meetings, as required. Provides primary instruction and evaluation of students against department and accreditation standards. Prepare syllabi, instruction materials; coordinate lectures and tests. Minimum Qualifications

Masters in Counseling. All candidates must have at least two years of experience in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching courses in Mental Health Counseling, including Practicum and Internship. Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida Experience in teaching at the University or graduate level, supervision experience, and experience in the counseling profession. Doctorate in Counseling. Graduates from CACREP accredited programs will be given preference. Experience with on-line learning management systems like Canvas or Blackboard as well as instruction/ supervision experiences that use active learning in online and face to face classrooms is preferred. Licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Promote a common purpose consistent with stated University goals and demonstrate a commitment to students and the learning environment. Possess the knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability to read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks. Demonstrate the ability to respond to supervision, guidance and direction in a positive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies.
