Youth Development Center Teachers

The youth development center teacher is responsible for providing care and early childhood education to children aged 0-5, which includes developing and leading classroom curriculum and lesson plans appropriate for the age group. This role also requires supervising children and staff, maintaining positive parent relationships, conducting assessments, and ensuring classroom safety and organization.

Candidates must display ymca values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility, and are required to have a child development associate (Cda) certification or the ability to obtain one quickly, with the ymca offering training assistance. Previous experience in an early childhood setting and degrees in related fields are preferred, and cpr/First aid/Child abuse prevention training must be completed within 90 days of hire.
