The Assistant Varsity Football Coach supports the Head Coach in leading and developing the high school football program. Responsibilities include planning practices, instructing athletes, ensuring safety, and promoting academic achievement.

Job Summary The Varsity Assistant Football Coach is to support the Head Coach in leading and developing the high school football program.

The ideal candidate will bring a passion for the sport, a commitment to student-athlete development, and the ability to work within a team of coaches to promote a positive, competitive, and respectful athletic culture.Job Responsibilities · Assist the Head Coach in planning and running practices, games, and team activities. · Instruct student-athletes in the rules, strategies, and techniques of football. · Provide mentorship, leadership, and supervision to student-athletes both on and off the field. · Support the development of offensive, defensive, or special teams schemes (depending on area of focus). · Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices, games, and travel. · Promote academic achievement, good sportsmanship, and character development. · Assist with game-day preparations, including equipment setup and sideline management. · Collaborate with coaching staff to analyze game film and implement adjustments. · Maintain open communication with athletes, parents, and school administrators. · Help monitor student-athlete eligibility and compliance with school and league rules. · Attend all scheduled team meetings, practices, games, and coach development sessions.Job Requirements · High school diploma or equivalent · Prior experience coaching football (preferably at the high school or collegiate level) · Strong knowledge of football rules, techniques, and strategies · Ability to effectively communicate and lead adolescents · First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)The Archdiocese of St.
