The teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities to promote learning and development while maintaining a safe and healthy classroom environment in compliance with MSDE regulations. Key duties also include effective communication with parents and staff, and diligent observation and documentation of children's progress.
Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of the 90-hour Preschool Certification, with the 45-hour Infant and Toddler Certification needed if caring for children under two. Ability to obtain the following within 90 days of employment: ADA Training. Basic Health and Safety Certificate. At least 1 year of experience working with preschool or infant/toddler children OR 30 semester hours of college coursework in early childhood education or a related field. 9 clock hours of approved training in communication with staff, parents, and the public. Commitment to ongoing professional development (minimum 12 clock hours annually). Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with families and staff.
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential. Additional coursework or certifications in early childhood education. Experience working with children with special needs. Bilingual or multilingual skills. Familiarity with MSDE regulations and licensing requirements.
