Special Education Teacher Title: Special Education Teacher Location: Steger, IL Duration: ASAP to 25 - 26 School year end Onsite/Virtual: Onsite Position Type: Contract Working Hours: 30-35 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday Student Age Group: K-1 self-contained life skills classroom Case Load: 8 to 10 students
Responsibilities
SpEd Teacher Teach in a K-1 self-contained life skills classroom. Support and accommodate 8 to 10 students, several of whom have an Autism diagnosis. Assist students who are non-verbal or have limited verbal abilities. Provide support to students typically with assistance from paraprofessionals. Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other school staff. Work on IEPs and or any other relevant tasks assigned.
Qualifications
Special Education Teacher Relevant Bachelors and or Masters degree. Active IL PEL license with LBS1 endorsment. At least 1 year of SPED teacher experience preferred. Experience with ULS preferred.
