Position Details
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Title: Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Location: Steger, IL Duration: 08/13/2026 to 05/27/2027 Onsite/Virtual: Onsite Position Type: Contract Working Hours: 35 - 37.5 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday, 30 min un-paid lunch. Student Age Group: Elemenatry School Case Load: Approximately 60 students
Responsibilities
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Assessment and Diagnosis: Administer and interpret standardized tests and other tools to identify students' speech, language, and hearing needs. Intervention Planning: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific communication goals. Therapy Delivery: Provide individual and group speech and language therapy, utilizing appropriate strategies and techniques.
Collaboration
- Work closely with parents, teachers, administrators, and other specialists to support students' communication development.
- Monitoring and
- Evaluation: Continuously monitor student progress and make adjustments to intervention plans as needed.
Consultation
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, offering guidance and strategies to support students with speech and language needs.
- Record
- Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of evaluations, progress, and recommendations.
Qualifications
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Appropriate Illinois SLP licensure. Strong understanding of special education standards and requirements. Proficiency in assessing and remediating speech and language disabilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
