Job Description
Summary A school-based educational setting in New York is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for 2026-2027 School Year to provide direct therapeutic services to students with disabilities. The organization supports student independence and functional development through individualized, goal-driven intervention. This part-time role focuses on developing functional living skills, tracking progress, and collaborating with families and school staff to ensure meaningful student outcomes. What You’ll Do Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual and small-group settings. Develop functional living skill goals aligned with student needs and educational plans. Conduct screenings, observations, and assessments to identify areas requiring intervention. Plan, implement, and adjust treatment plans based on ongoing evaluation and data. Monitor and document student progress to determine effectiveness of services. Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation in compliance with legal and school requirements. Communicate regularly with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student progress. Collaborate with instructional staff and administration to support coordinated student services. Adhere to New York State regulations, school policies, and professional standards. What You’ll Need Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Valid New York State Occupational Therapist license and registration. Minimum of one year of occupational therapy experience (school-based preferred). Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required. Availability to work 20–30 hours per week. Bonus Skills Experience providing services to students with disabilities in school settings. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
