- Range: $16.00 - $18.00 HourlyWe are looking for seasonal lifeguards to work at the Ocean County YMCA this summer for our Summer Camp! The Camp Lifeguard at the Ocean County YMCA aids in supervising and effectively leading a group of campers in daily camp activities. Camp Lifeguards Provide a safe and nurturing environment for campers, are actively involved, and have a positive attitude about all camp activities.

- This is a weekday only position from 8:30am - 3:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Maintains active surveillance of the pool area and remains on duty and in an alert state until properly relieved from duty.
- Knows, reviews, implements, and discusses all safety rules, policies, and emergency procedures with all members and rentals. Responds to emergency or unsafe situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, procedures, and completes related reports as required. - Arrives at your designated location at the scheduled time, dressed appropriately in lifeguard attire (lifeguard shirt, bathing suit, easily removed foot gear, water bottle, and sunscreen). - Completes mandatory staff trainings in accordance with YMCA standards and the state Health Department Code. - Checks pool, pool deck, and equipment for hazardous conditions upon arrival and departure and maintains cleanliness. Ensures that all appropriate equipment and supplies are available as needed. - Demonstrates and teaches the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility with all campers and staff. - Follows all camp rules, regulations, and policies while also being able to enforce them among peers. - Oxygen Administration certification Requirements:
- Minimum age of 15 (Age 16 preferred)
- Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid certification.
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding.
- Ability to maintain physical and mental readiness.
- Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with American Red Cross Certification Standards.
- Must be willing and able to maintain and clean the pool area.
