The Teacher Aide is responsible for the supervision of children and adolescents during school and/or out-of-school hours, including meals, and assisting with activities designed to promote personal and social growth. Primary duties involve supervising emotionally/behaviorally disordered deaf and hard of hearing youth, encouraging good hygiene, assisting with mobility, and implementing Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS).
Candidates must be able to work collaboratively, anticipate issues, de-escalate behavior, demonstrate good judgment, and manage crisis situations with high levels of patience and empathy. Proficiency in writing reports is required, and proficiency in American Sign Language is highly desired, with an interest in learning ASL being mandatory.

Under the supervision of the PACES or Core Dean of Students, and/or the Coordinator of Student Support Services, the Teacher Aide (PACES Autism Program) is responsible for the supervision of children and adolescents during school and/or out-of-school hours and the assumption of other responsibilities as designated by the PACES or Core Dean of Students, and/or Student Support Services Coordinator.
