Rec Sports provides programs and services to the university community. The goal is to provide a positive environment to assist those individuals in exploring and learning about recreation and fitness activities, in order to enhance a better quality of life and to become active members of the community. We employ approximately 250 students each year through various programs including intramural sports, informal recreation, group exercise, sport clubs, fitness, faculty/staff fitness, special events, outdoor pursuits and aquatics. Responsibilities include designing and leading engaging fitness classes in various formats, motivating participants to achieve their fitness goals, and ensuring a safe and supportive exercise environment. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for fitness, strong interpersonal skills, and an accredited certification in group fitness instruction (ACE, NASM, AFAA, 200hrYoga, Zumba, etc.).
Current Group Exercise Certification from AFAA, ACE, or other specialty certification upon approval from assistant director. Current CPR/AED certification or ability to attain through the Rec within one month of hire. Group Fitness teaching experience 1+ years
