Core responsibilities
The student peer mentor assists students in transitioning and adjusting to college academically and socially by providing basic information about advising, student services, course content, and campus life. A critical part of the role involves connecting students with various college resources, supporting assigned sls 1515 courses, and facilitating success workshops.
Requirements summary
Candidates must currently be enrolled as an undergraduate student at florida southwestern state college, maintain a minimum cumulative gpa of 2.75, and be in good disciplinary standing. Applicants must have successfully completed the sls 1515 cornerstone class with a b or higher, or be currently enrolled with a professor's recommendation.
