Graduate Assistant – Cross Country/Track and Field Department

  • Pay: $10,000 stipend to be paid on a prorated basis per pay period for a 10-month period from August to May (Pay range may vary based on geographic location) Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • Summary: The Cross Country/Track and Field Graduate Assistant will provide event training and management of event group as well as overall support of Cross country/Track and Field Program.
  • Assist the head and assistant coaches in training of student athletes. Preparing them mentally and physically for practice and competition.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to.
  • Coaching and training of student athletes in particular event group.
  • Supervision of practice, study hall or other team events while head coach or assistant coach are away.
  • Proficient in working with word, excel and power point.
  • Have appropriate boundaries with student athletes, assisting them in becoming the best student-athlete they can become.
  • Participation in program and athletic department fund-raising efforts.
  • Work effectively with students, student-athletes, administrators, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, officials, and coaching peers.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Must be accepted into the Graduate Program at Columbia College.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a college environment
  • Experience in sprints & hurdles, jumps, throws
