Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Teacher in creating a welcoming, safe and engaging classroom for all learners
  • Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining room cleanliness, organization & visual appeal _Assist in preparing and delivering lessons that align with provided curriculum and themes
  • Understand and comply with all TN Early Childhood Licensing Requirements - including ongoing trainings
  • Understand and comply with all CCP requirements and best practices as outlined in the Preschool Operations Manual - including training, staff meetings and events
  • Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining a consistent schedule and routine
  • Be familiar with the class Sub Folder & step into the Lead Teacher Role when needed
  • Encourage and support creativity and independence during activities and crafts, focusing on child-led learning
  • Assist with gathering and organizing materials for class activities
  • Supervise and engage with children - in room, playground, halls, lunchroom, etc. ensuring their safety and developmental growth
  • Help implement a positive, age-appropriate behavior management approach aligned with school policy
  • Assist with preparing for and participating in parent conferences as needed
  • Help ensure that clean toys, activities, & expectations are developmentally appropriate
  • Duties will vary based on the age of the classroom
  • Work to ensure that confidentiality is maintained by faculty and staff as it pertains to student discipline, academic struggles or staff issues
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by the administrative team WORKING CONDITIONS Typically, a 5-day a week classroom schedule. Work includes but not limited to walking, standing, walking up and down stairs, squatting, bending, carrying items up to 45lbs, getting up and down off the floor. Time will be spent both indoors and outdoors, in both quiet and chaotic spaces.
