The Special Education Teacher plans and delivers specialized instruction for scholars with disabilities, ensuring they benefit from the general education curriculum through appropriate supports and accommodations. Responsibilities include teaching a rigorous, standards-aligned curriculum, assessing student progress, and proficiently managing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).
Candidates must possess Georgia Teacher Certification in Special Education (T-4 or above) and demonstrate proficiency in writing IEPs, applying modifications, and utilizing TIER III RTI probes. Preferred qualifications include teaching experience, a passion for mission-driven teamwork, and the ability to teach consistently at Depth of Knowledge levels 3 and 4.
The DuBois Integrity STEM Academy’s (DIA) academic program has two pillars that support substantial achievement improvement: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) combined with Blended Learning. We use theme-based, interdisciplinary, integrated curricula to facilitate instruction and learning. DIA is searching for Middle Grades Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year.
Under the direction of the Special Education Director, the Special Education Teacher plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for scholars with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. The person in this position is responsible for creating a flexible program and learning environment that provides specialized instruction for scholars with disabilities, such that the scholars benefit from the general education curriculum to the greatest extent possible when supplied with supplemental aides, accommodations, and other needed supports.
