About the role

The Childcare Worker is responsible for providing age-appropriate, safe, and secure care for children ranging from infant through 5th grade under the direction of the Preschool + Kids Minister. This includes engaging children in organized activities such as teaching Bible stories, leading songs, crafts, and games while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

SUMMARY The Church at Woodbine Childcare Worker is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Woodbine Preschool + Kids Minister, for providing childcare for ages birth through 5th grade. Hours include Sunday AM, Sunday PM (as needed) and Special Events. Pay is $15/hour. Must be comfortable teaching Bible stories and helping with crafts and games. CPR certified or willing to become certified. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for providing age-appropriate care for children ranging in age from infant-5th grade.

Provide dependable, safe and secure care to the children in the care of Brentwood Baptist Church.

Abide by all the safety and security policies outlined by Brentwood Baptist Church.

Maintain current CPR/First Aid Training for infants and children.

Engage children in organized activities while in childcare- using age-appropriate songs, stories, lessons and crafts.

Ensure safety and cleanliness of the childcare environment.

Know the emergency plans posted in each classroom and implement them when necessary.

Use appropriate, consistent and positive discipline.

Qualifications

  • Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist Church.
  • A mature Christian who is demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer.
  • Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Able to lift children and move around easily in order to perform duties required to care for children of ages birth through 5th grade.
  • Active participant of a local evangelical church, as well as a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Certified in Infant/Child CPR (or willing to obtain certification)
  • Must complete a criminal background check.
  • Enjoy working with children.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, preferred All campuses operate under the governance of Brentwood Baptist Church. Each campus functions as a distinct, permanent entity that is an integral part of Brentwood Baptist. They all maintain predefined characteristics that reflect the Brentwood Baptist "DNA" while also adapting some contextual traits to best serve their local communities. Every staff member is an employee of Brentwood Baptist.

Requirements

Candidates must be mature Christians, active participants in a local evangelical church, and committed to spiritual disciplines, while also being 18 years or older and able to lift children. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, and certification in Infant/Child CPR is required or willingness to obtain it, along with passing a criminal background check.
