Summer 2026 Overnight Camp Health Officer

YMCA Camp Duncan, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. At camp, we teach self-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character—all amidst the fun of campfires, canoeing, archery, swimming, and meaningful relationships.

The Overnight Camp Health Officer is a seasonal position. Under the direct supervision of the Camp Director, the Health Officer is responsible for proper health care and first aid for campers and staff.

Pay range is $1,500-$1,700 bi-weekly, housing & meals provided

Scope and Responsibilities

• Collect all campers and staff medication keep them locked up and dispense as directed.
• Perform a wellness check all campers & staff for communicable diseases, health problems, illnesses as directed in the written health procedures.
• Collect and file all camper and staff health forms.
• Maintain all first aid kits.
• Maintain standing order medication and report medication or supply needs to the camp director.
• Maintain daily treatment log.
• Be readily available for first aid emergencies and other contingencies.
• Secure proper treatment for campers and staff requiring a doctor's or hospital attention.
