YMCA Camp Duncan, like many Y programs, is about learning skills, developing character and making friends. But few environments are as special as camp, where kids become a community as they learn both how to be more independent and how to contribute to a group. At camp, we teach self-reliance, a love for nature, and the development of attitudes and practices that build character—all amidst the fun of campfires, canoeing, archery, swimming, and meaningful relationships.
The Overnight Camp Health Officer is a seasonal position. Under the direct supervision of the Camp Director, the Health Officer is responsible for proper health care and first aid for campers and staff.
Pay range is $1,500-$1,700 bi-weekly, housing & meals provided
Market context
In Illinois, overnight camp health officer roles typically draw candidates with active clinical credentials and experience supporting children in group settings. These positions are competitive because employers often look for a nursing background, current CPR and First Aid, and prior camp experience, while the schedule and seasonal setting can narrow the applicant pool.
