Job Summary St.

Anthony Catholic Church is seeking a knowledgeable, faith-filled, and mission-driven 7th–8th Grade Social Studies Teacher to join our school community.

This position is responsible for providing engaging instruction in history, geography, civics, and related disciplines while fostering a classroom environment rooted in curiosity, respect, and Catholic values.Job Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging social studies lessons for 7th and 8th grade students aligned with school and Archdiocesan curriculum standards.

Create a structured and positive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, discussion, and active participation.

Integrate Catholic teachings and values into classroom discussions and historical perspectives when appropriate.

Develop lessons incorporating primary sources, project-based learning, and inquiry-based instruction.

Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback.

Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and abilities.

Maintain accurate records including lesson plans, grades, and student progress reports.

Communicate regularly and professionally with parents, faculty, and administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.

Supervise students during transitions and other assigned duties as needed.

Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff on curriculum planning, interdisciplinary learning opportunities, and school initiatives.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.

Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating Catholic values and contributing to the faith life of the school community.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Education, History, Social Studies, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Valid Missouri teaching certification or eligibility for certification.

Experience teaching middle school students or working with adolescents preferred.

Strong understanding of social studies curriculum, instructional strategies, and adolescent development.

Excellent classroom-management, communication, and organizational skills.

Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.

Must meet Archdiocesan requirements, including Safe Environment training and background screening.
