Job description

The Fountaingrove Club is searching for a reliable, trustworthy swimming coach to join our team. The Swimming instructors responsibilities include analyzing swim techniques and determining skill levels, developing individualized swimming programs, educating swimmers on various techniques and styles, and overseeing training. The ability to teach adults and children to swim.

pay range

$18.50 to 52.00 per hour with additional commissions per lesson

Swimming Instructors Responsibilities

  • Determining ability and skill level before setting up training programs
  • Developing and implementing training programs that focus on improving technique, stroke placement, speed, and style.
  • Teaching brand new swimming styles or strokes
  • Educating swimmers on water safety and providing lifesaving training sessions
  • Using a range of activities to improve water confidence
  • Recording training sessions in order to analyze strokes, techniques, and monitor progress
  • Setting training goals and objectives for teams as well as individual swimmers
  • Teaching and perfecting skills like flips, kicks, body rolls, floating, and breath control
  • Ensuring the pool or training area is clean, well-maintained, and free of hazards
  • Communicate and set up individual schedules with clients

Swimming Instructor requirements

  • High school diploma
  • CPR Certified
  • Completed courses in swimming instruction
  • First-aid training recommended
  • Excellent lifesaving skills
  • Ability to determine swimming level and analyze techniques
  • Strong organizational and management skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work long hours
  • Swim lessons are private to potential group lessons if desired
