The salary for this position is $77,000-$90,000 annually, commensurate on experience.

Job Summary & Responsibilities

QSAC is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to work with children and young adults. This opportunity is located at our Whitestone Day School.

The OT will follow a treatment plan/IEP goals developed to improve, develop, restore, or maintain opportunities for active participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play for the students we support. OT’s will also provide education and training to Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Responsibilities

  • Treatment Plans & Supervision
  • Direct service according to a written treatment plan/IEP that the OT develops
  • Recommend modification of treatment approaches to reflect the student’s changing needs
  • Develop appropriate plans for the students being supported
  • OT’s will provide collaborative education and supervision services to promote best practices and professional growth to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Communication & Administration
  • Communicates and interacts with other team members, school personnel, and families
  • Develop and maintain a daily schedule, which includes sites, students/classrooms and other activities/duties
  • Maintain and records accurate records and documentation
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility, while working cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program required
  • Current New York State OT license to practice required
  • Experience working with people with autism highly preferred
  • One to three years’ experience working as an OT in a related setting preferred
