Overview
Assists in the operation of the classrooms according to State and local governing agencies, Center policies, NCRLAP (ITERS/ECERS) guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the creation and development of a developmentally appropriate curriculum for the classroom using Creative Curriculum & NC Foundations for Early Education.
- Assists in the planning and preparation of the learning environment to meet cognitive, physical, emotional & social needs of the individual child.
- Provides services with consideration of the recipient’s needs.
- Assists in the operation of the classrooms according to State and local governing agencies, Center policies, NCRLAP (ITERS/ECERS) guidelines.
- Uses positive guidance techniques.
- Supervises classroom in the absence of Lead Teacher Provides professional, accurate and timely communications to parents.
Qualifications
- NC Early Childhood Credentials preferred with a minimum of 1 year classroom management experience.
- Willingness to obtain the NCECC with in the first year of employment may be considered.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift children.
- Ability to move quickly in emergency situations, and interact energetically with children.
- Ability to withstand extensive standing, stooping, bending, and squatting.
- Ability to communicate with other individuals.
- Potential exposure to communicable diseases and/or blood/body fluids
