Teacher Assistant

The role involves supporting teachers with educational activities, providing general and instructional support to students, and assisting with personal care and daily living activities as directed. Minimum qualifications require current new york state education department teacher assistant certification or active pursuit thereof, along with passing the nystce atas exam and required workshops, with certification mandatory within 90 days of appointment. Candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm for working with children with disabilities, patience, empathy, strong communication skills, and the physical capacity to assist students, including lifting and implementing emergency interventions.
