Job description

The SpeechLanguage Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for children with speech, language, and communication disorders. This role includes developing individualized treatment plans, delivering direct therapy, collaborating with staff, and supporting families to ensure children receive effective, compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluations & assessments
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for children across developmental levels.
  • Identify disorders in articulation, fluency, expressive/receptive language, voice, and social communication.
  • Prepare clear evaluation reports, treatment recommendations, and documentation.
  • Treatment & therapy
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and child needs.
  • Provide direct speechlanguage therapy sessions (individual or smallgroup).
  • Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to support growth.
  • Collaboration & consultation
  • Consult with teachers, caregivers, therapists, and support staff to integrate communication strategies.
  • Provide staff training on communication supports, AAC tools, and language building techniques.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
  • Documentation & compliance
  • Maintain accurate session notes, reports, and records in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Follow ethical and professional standards set by ASHA and state regulatory bodies.
  • Communicate progress and recommendations to families and team members.
