Job Description

Anoka-Ramsey Community College is seeking two (2) dental assistant professionals to teach across the program’s curriculum. Primary responsibilities include delivering lecture, lab, and clinic instruction; evaluating student performance; and facilitating laboratory and simulation/clinic skill development—including selected simulation/clinic skills evaluations. Faculty members are expected to participate in department, division, campus, and college initiatives through committee service, regular meetings, and continued professional development. The Dental Assisting Faculty position supports Anoka‑Ramsey Community College’s mission by preparing students for successful careers as both unlicensed and licensed professional dental assistants. This program is designed for individuals seeking the knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies required to work effectively in a variety of dental practice settings. The program follows a comprehensive curriculum that integrates didactic, laboratory, and simulation/clinic instruction followed by an internship. It emphasizes patient‑centered care, infection control, chairside assisting, radiography, dental materials, and professional standards essential to safe, ethical dental practice in the diploma and AAS programs. Graduates are prepared to function as integral members of the dental healthcare team and to meet industry expectations for entry‑level employment. The Dental Assisting Department values innovative and student‑centered instructional practices, including active learning strategies, hands‑on laboratory experiences, community‑based learning, and integration of digital tools.
