The Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in all facets of team management, including player development, game strategy formulation, and recruiting efforts for the Men's and Women's Swim and Dive programs. Essential duties involve teaching technical skills, designing instructional programs, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with NCAA regulations.
A minimum requirement is a Bachelor's Degree or two or more years of relevant coaching experience, with NCAA Division I experience and a successful recruiting record being preferred. Candidates must possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and must obtain NCAA Coaches Certification and 15-passenger van driving certification upon hire.

The Athletics Department at California State University, Bakersfield, a NCAA Division I institution, invites applications for a Men’s and Women’s Swimming Assistant Coach. This is a non-tenured position.
As part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the assistant coach will play a vital role in supporting the head coach in all aspects of team management, player development, game strategy, and recruiting efforts. Bachelor’s Degree, from an accredited institution of higher education or TWO (2) or more years of work experience coaching, NCAA Division I experience is preferred. A successful record of recruiting NCAA Division I student-athletes is preferred. This position, along with all coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of our intercollegiate athletics program and for the reputation of our university. Candidate must possess excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a large variety of constituents.
The full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) monthly salary range for this classification is $6,288-$7,658, in accordance with the CSU Unit 3 salary schedule.
This appointment is 0.25 FTE, which is the equivalent of 10/40 hours per week. Salary will be prorated based on time base. At 0.25 FTE, the approximate monthly salary range is $1,572-$1,914.50.
$1,572-$1,583 monthly. Actual salary is commensurate with education and experience.
