Core responsibilities
The occupational therapist provides individualized therapy sessions, leads small classroom groups, and conducts pre-Vocational life skills activities for students facing social, emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges. Essential duties include delivering trauma-Informed care focusing on self-Regulation, sensory processing, motor skills, executive functioning, and self-Care to maximize student participation.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a master's degree (Ms) or doctorate (Otd) in occupational therapy, along with active ma licensure and nbcot board certification. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a school or pediatric setting with a similar student population is required, and training in first aid/Cpr and physical restraint is mandatory.
