Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant

Therapists plan and provide appropriate individual and group interventions in collaboration with the occupational therapist, student, and family, consistent with goals outlined in individual education plans (Ieps). They also evaluate student progress and collaborate on determining readiness for therapy termination through progress reports.

Candidates must possess an associate’s degree in occupational therapy assistant and hold a current certified occupational therapy assistant license from the texas state board of occupational therapy examiners. A minimum of one year of experience as an occupational therapist assistant, preferably in a school or pediatric setting, is required.
