HPS Officer

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure the safety, security, and well-Being of the hamline university campus community by enforcing university policy, state, and federal law through active patrols and engagement. Essential functions include providing initial response to incidents, liaising with emergency responders, de-Escalating disruptive activity, writing detailed reports, and operating security technical systems.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or ged, excellent communication skills, and over one year of experience working with basic computer programs like word and excel. Candidates must be able to respond effectively to dynamic and stressful incidents, make timely critical decisions with limited supervision, and successfully complete required medical and defensive tactics training.
