The speech language pathologist is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and recommendation of therapeutic intervention for k-8th grade students with communication disorders within an educational setting. Essential functions include implementing appropriate speech-Language pathology instruction to teach, habilitate, or rehabilitate communicatively impaired students.

Candidates must possess a master’s degree from an accredited speech language pathology program and hold or be eligible for new york state licensure as a speech-Language pathologist, asha certificate of clinical competence, and tssld certification. Licensed slps are also required to appropriately supervise cfys and tsslds.
