  • Functions: Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in the area of kinesiology and exercise fitness management. Responsibilities include mentoring students, serving on committees at all levels, engaging in scholarly/creative activities such as research with undergraduate students, professional presentations with students and community service.

  • Overview: The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA). An earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). **NOTE*

  • Preferred: Doctorate in Kinesiology or related field is required, potential for or record of teaching and service activities.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Primary responsibilities are teaching, scholarship, and service to the University and profession. In addition, demonstrate a high level of competence and deep understanding in the area of kinesiology and health studies. Compliance with program, departmental and institutional policies and procedures including but not limited to keeping office hours and making decisions regarding curriculum, assessment and program outcomes. Participate on appropriate committees at the departmental, college and university level. Committing to and understanding transformative learning in the classroom and in other opportunities provided to students.
