Duties and Responsibilities
Commit to precept 1 student/semester for a minimum of 1 semester per year (There are 3 semesters per year: Summer, Fall and Spring) Commit to a minimum of 150 hours with the student per semester (student must complete 210 clinical hours each semester) Agree to the 3-pronged role of provider, preceptor and clinical faculty Communicate directly with Course Faculty regarding student progress and any concerns Complete final evaluation
Minimum Qualifications
The CPE role is available for a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Advance Nurse Practitioner, Physician or Physician Assistant. Unfortunately, the CPE role is not available to providers who practice under a specialty area. The provider is licensed and authorized to practice under federal law and state laws where the Clinical Experience takes place and is approved to practice at the facility where the Clinical Experience takes place. eligible for workers’ compensation and will receive 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
