Position Summary
Holy Redeemer Catholic School is seeking reliable, flexible, and mission‑driven Substitute Teachers to support classroom instruction in grades K–8 on an as‑needed basis. Substitute Teachers play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by following established lesson plans, fostering a positive classroom environment, and upholding the values and expectations of Holy Redeemer. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong communication skills, professionalism, and a commitment to supporting students’ academic and spiritual growth within a Catholic school community.
- Key responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to ensure consistent, high‑quality instruction.
- Maintain a structured, respectful, and engaging classroom environment aligned with school expectations.
- Supervise students during instructional time, transitions, recess, lunch, and other assigned duties.
- Manage classroom behavior using positive, developmentally appropriate strategies.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with students, staff, and administrators.
- Provide clear directions, support student learning, and assist with classroom activities as needed.
- Ensure student safety and well‑being at all times.
- Follow school policies, procedures, and routines to maintain continuity in the teacher’s absence.
- Uphold and model Catholic values throughout the school day.
- Complete any required documentation or reports related to the day’s instruction or student concerns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; candidates with relevant experience or coursework may be considered.
