Core responsibilities
The senior child life specialist mentors staff in providing comprehensive, developmentally appropriate, and culturally sensitive, family-Centered care focused on psychosocial and developmental needs. This role involves providing evaluation, therapeutic services, direct patient care, and patient/Family education through methods like therapeutic play and procedural support to facilitate adaptive coping.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of pediatric experience and hold the certified child life specialist (Ccls) credential, along with a bachelor's degree in child life, child development, or a related field. A valid driver's license and basic life support (Bls) certification are also required.
