Substitute Teacher

The substitute teacher implements developmentally appropriate activities aligned with head start standards to provide temporary classroom support, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment while following established routines. Responsibilities include supervising children, assisting with daily routines, maintaining safety, and supporting positive child development in collaboration with staff.

Minimum qualifications require a high school diploma or ged equivalent and a willingness to complete head start-Mandated training. Preferred qualifications include a child development associate (Cda) or coursework in early childhood education, along with prior experience in a head start or preschool setting.
