Core responsibilities
The youth mentor is responsible for the direct supervision of adolescent boys in a transitional living program, cultivating a safe, therapeutic, and nurturing home environment supportive of their development. Key duties include maintaining constant sight and sound supervision, providing crisis intervention, following established routines, recording observations, monitoring hygiene and healthcare needs, and facilitating individualized care plans.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and have required experience working in human services, direct client care, or with children/Youth, along with a valid driver's license. Essential soft skills include professional communication, patience, flexibility, and a team-Player mindset, plus the ability to obtain certifications like therapeutic crisis intervention (Tci), first aid/Cpr, and medication administration.
