Auburn Youth Programs (AYP) is hiring Summer Camp Staff to help bring our academic, athletic, cheer, and dance camps to life. Each summer, more than 4,000 high school students come to Auburn and you’ll be part of the team that makes their experience unforgettable.
As a Summer Camp Staff member, you’ll be right in the middle of the action (and behind the scenes), helping camps run smoothly from start to finish.
From prepping camp materials and assisting with check-in and check-out to welcoming guests and sharing the Auburn spirit, no two days will look the same.
You’ll work alongside other Auburn students, faculty, and staff in an energetic environment where teamwork and flexibility are key.
AYP Staff positions work in the summer from May 12th to July 17th (excluding July 1st-5th).
This includes occasional weekends.

A successful Auburn Youth Programs Staff Member will be an Auburn student with a passion for impacting and serving youth. We’re looking for an individual that will work behind the scenes to support the smooth and safe operation of all Auburn Youth Programs camps and programs and ensure an extraordinary Auburn Experience for camp participants.
Attend counselor training prior to the start of the camps (tentatively scheduled for the week of May 11th).

Responsibilities: Take on any other responsibilities as assigned, ensuring the camps operate smoothly.
Meet students and staff from across the U.S., creating lasting memories and friendships while working in an exciting, dynamic environment. Lunch provided at The Edge when campers are present. Enrolled student at Auburn University for at least one year Enrolled and taking classes during the semester of employment; or Not enrolled in classes for the semester of employment, but enrolled in the previous semester and enrolled for the following semester. Be in good academic standing Be at least 19 years old on June 1, 2026, pass a background check, and possess a valid driver’s license.
Previous camp counselor experience or experience working with high school students preferred.
