This role involves performing responsible academic advising for students regarding TWU programs and services, helping individuals select, outline, and achieve their educational and developmental goals. The advisor also serves as a resource for academic units, designs advising policies, and assumes leadership roles within the department.
A Bachelor's degree is required, along with three years of academic advising experience in higher education, though related experience/education may substitute year-for-year. Essential abilities include knowledge of office practices, effective communication, organizational skills, and the ability to use standard office equipment and software.

Supervises: May supervise Student Assistants

Three years of higher education academic advising experience is required. Additional job-related experience/and/or education may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Regular and reliable attendance at the University during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.

Supervisors and employees should ensure that injury/accident reports are submitted to the Office of Human Resources and Risk Management within 24 hours of the incident.
