Core responsibilities
The youth mentor engages referred youth (Ages 9-17) to build rapport, identify goals, and facilitate success and independence through direct support like homework help and life skills teaching. Responsibilities also include administrative tasks such as maintaining case files, completing assessments, coordinating services with external providers, and providing testimony at hearings when necessary.
Requirements summary
Candidates require either a bachelor's degree in a related human services field plus one year of direct youth experience, or an associate's degree plus two years of direct youth experience. A valid driver's license with two years of driving history, reliable transportation, and willingness to drive and transport clients throughout schuylkill county are mandatory.
