SUMMARY: The hourly Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment with Capital Area Intermediate Unit is $22.00/hour 5 days of Paid Time Off (prorated based on hire date) CURRENT OPENING: Middletown High School, 1155 N Union St, Middletown, PA 17057 (Middletown Area School District) Supporting students in an Autistic Support classroom - must be comfortable with personal care support and behavior redirection Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 3:00pm PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide instructional, behavioral, and/or physical assistance to an individual student or a small group of students - including, but not limited to: on-task prompting, facilitating social skills, and self-care skills Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress Directly support students at the direction of classroom teacher and building Principal EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma required. For Title I positions - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB 2 years post secondary, Associate's Degree or higher - preferred Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred CREDENTIALING : (Clearances current within 12 months) PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance PA Department of Education FBI TB Screening - current within 3 months Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
