Job description

The management services offered to our family of charter schools, allows us to collectively become a change agent and national leader in urban education as evidenced by student awareness of self, high academic achievement, positive school culture and community transformation wherever we serve.

Essential Functions

  • The Math Coach plays a pivotal role in enhancing the mathematical understanding and skills of students across various grade levels.
  • This position focuses on developing and implementing effective instructional strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
  • The Math Coach will collaborate with teachers to create a supportive learning environment that fosters student engagement and achievement in mathematics.
  • By analyzing student performance data, the Math Coach will identify areas for improvement and provide targeted professional development for educators.
  • Ultimately, the goal is to elevate the overall math proficiency of students, ensuring they are well-prepared for future academic challenges.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification in mathematics or a related subject area.
  • At least three years of classroom teaching experience in mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Mathematics Education or a related field.
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring teachers in a professional development capacity.
  • Familiarity with current educational technology and resources for math instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with teachers to design and implement effective math instruction and assessment strategies.
  • Provide one-on-one and group coaching sessions for educators to enhance their teaching practices.
  • Analyze student performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement in math education.
  • Develop and facilitate professional development workshops focused on best practices in math instruction.
