Sports Official

The sports official must officiate games impartially, adhering to ymca philosophy, while clearly communicating rules and maintaining a safe playing environment. This role involves supporting youth development through positive coaching and building respectful relationships with participants, coaches, and families.

Candidates must be at least 16 years old and possess knowledge of the rules for the assigned sport(S), along with good interpersonal and communication skills to remain calm and fair under pressure. Required certifications include mandatory child abuse reporting and emergency procedures, with completion of ymca online officials training prior to the first game.
