Job Description
The substitute teacher provides classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The substitute teacher maintains a positive, safe, and Christ-centered learning environment while following lesson plans and supporting students academically, socially, and spiritually.
Required Education Bachelor’s degree required Teaching certification preferred but not required
Required Spiritual Qualifications All faculty and staff shall
Have received Jesus Christ as his/her Savior Believe that the Bible is God’s Word and standard for faith and daily living Be in agreement with the school’s Doctrinal Statement and Christian philosophy of education Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others Be a member in good standing at a local church with beliefs consistent with the school’s Statement of Faith Demonstrate spiritual maturity and a desire to support students in their growth in Christ

Essential Job Functions The substitute teacher shall
Follow lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher and deliver instruction as directed Maintain appropriate classroom management and student discipline in accordance with school policies Supervise students in the classroom, hallways, playground, and other school settings Assist with student questions and provide support with assigned academic work Maintain a safe, orderly, and positive learning environment Take attendance and complete basic documentation as required Communicate any significant student concerns or incidents to administration Provide supervision during transitions, recess, or other assigned times as needed Maintain professional and respectful interactions with students, staff, and parents Adapt as needed to different grade levels, classroom environments, and schedules Perform other duties as assigned by school administration The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the school day, with or without reasonable accommodation The employee must be able to actively supervise students in both indoor and outdoor environments, including during recess and transitions The employee may be required to bend, kneel, stoop, or reach while assisting students or managing classroom activities The employee must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds, including classroom supplies or materials
