AmeriCorps Youth Peer Support Specialist (24-32 hours/week)

The americorps youth peer support specialist will offer direct peer-To-Peer support, mentorship, and guidance to youth facing mental health, substance use, or social-Emotional challenges, drawing on personal lived experiences to foster hope and empowerment. Responsibilities also include connecting youth with necessary community resources, advocating for their needs within various systems, and co-Facilitating relevant psychoeducation sessions.

Candidates must possess personal lived experience navigating significant life challenges such as mental health issues or substance use, and currently be in a state of stable recovery or wellness, holding at least a high school diploma or ged. Required certifications include youth peer support and youth mental health first aid, both needing completion within the first three months of employment.
