Job Description

The Program Coordinator provides comprehensive student support, administrative, and operational services for the School of Public and International Affairs’ (SPIA) graduate certificate programs. Serving as a primary point of contact for certificate students, faculty, and university partners, the position supports student progress from inquiry through completion while ensuring compliance with University and Graduate School policies.

The coordinator manages course scheduling, student records, enrollment support, and faculty administrative needs, and plays a key role in program communications, events, accreditation support, and alumni engagement. This position also provides cross-campus and cross-program support, serving as a backup coordinator for other SPIA graduate and undergraduate programs as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in academic administration, customer service, program support, or a related professional setting.
  • Demonstrated professional written and verbal communication experience, evidenced by roles requiring regular correspondence, documentation, or stakeholder interaction.
  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced, detail-oriented work environment.
  • Documented experience applying or working within institutional, organizational, or regulatory policies and procedures in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, including responsibility for managing tasks, workflows, or projects.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar). Experience providing administrative, programmatic, or operational support requiring accuracy, organization, and consistent follow-through.
