Core responsibilities
The speech language pathologist will provide speech and language therapy services to students according to their individualized education program (Iep), which includes conducting evaluations, analyzing data, and determining areas of need in communication skills. Duties also involve delivering therapy in classroom-Based settings, planning individualized lessons, participating in iep meetings, and assisting with augmentative and alternative communication (Aac) devices.
Requirements summary
Candidates must possess pennsylvania department of education certification in speech instruction or speech communication, a commonwealth of pennsylvania speech language pathologist (Slp) license, and american speech-Language-Hearing association certification (Ccc), though clinical fellowship year (Cfy) candidates are considered. Required skills include experience with both verbal and nonverbal students (Ages 3-21) in various support programs, knowledge of aac devices, strong organizational skills, and the ability to perform cpr.
