Job Description

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas, invites applications for Administrative Assistant 3, School of Nursing. ROLE of the POSITION The major purpose of the Administrative Assistant 3 in the UNLV School of Nursing is to ensure that our undergraduate and graduate programs continue with a high standard of excellence by communicating, assisting and providing information to students, potential students, faculty, the UNLV community, and all stakeholders. All of our programs run three semesters a year and have around 500 students each semester. This position is responsible for assisting students from admission to graduation and insures all the required paperwork working toward graduation is filed in a timely manner. This position assists with undergraduate contract signings, faculty evaluations and takes minutes at program level meetings on a regular basis. This position constantly tracks and updates student information in the E*Value database. This position tracks and constantly updates student application documents in the Salesforce database. This position is responsible for all the paperwork and student notifications for Undergraduate & Graduate Nursing Orientation. This position is responsible for graduation and recognition ceremonies. The person in this position completes a wide range of secretarial and clerical duties on a daily basis; responsibilities also include setup and maintaining files and student correspondence and supporting select faculty and staff members. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. In accordance with Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 284.170, initial appointments to classified positions typically begin at Step 1 of the assigned grade. A "Step" refers to the specific rate of pay within a grade, as determined by the Division of Human Resources.
