Kids club summer edition assistant teacher (Temporary – summer)

Dream Centers of Michigan is seeking engaging and dependable Assistant Teachers to support our 5-week Kids Club Summer Edition program. This program serves students in grades 1–5 through academic support, creative expression, and social development.

The Assistant Teacher plays a key role in supporting classroom instruction, reinforcing structure and routines, and helping create a positive, consistent environment for students. This role works closely with the Lead Teacher to ensure students are supported academically, socially, and behaviorally throughout the day.

  • Key responsibilities
  • Support daily instruction and small-group learning activities
  • Assist in maintaining classroom structure, routines, and organization
  • Help manage student behavior through positive reinforcement and redirection
  • Support transitions and provide additional help during high-need moments
  • Supervise and engage with students to ensure a safe, positive environment
  • Participate in all program activities, including Friday field trips

Qualifications

  • Experience working with elementary-aged students (grades 1–5) preferred
  • Background in education, child development, or related field preferred
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow direction while taking initiative when needed
  • Passion for youth development and creating positive student experiences

  • Temporary, full-time, salaried, non-exempt
  • Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Includes required pre-program training (mid-late June)
