Lakeside Educational Network is seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Education & Health Teacher to join our team at the Upper Merion Vantage Academy campus in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with middle and high school students who require both academic and emotional support. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and comprehensive Physical Education and Health courses to students in grades 7-12.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that promote physical activity, health awareness, and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with clinical, behavioral, and educational teams to support students' holistic development.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support tailored to individual needs.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and trauma-informed classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, participation, and performance.
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and team members regarding student progress and well-being.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school events to enhance instructional practices and school community engagement.
• Fulfill other daily staff responsibilities such as bus duty, lunch duty, hallway monitoring, etc.

Skills and Qualifications

• Pennsylvania Public or Private School Certification in Physical/Health Education required. Public School preferred.
• Prior experience teaching middle and high school students, preferably in a supportive or trauma-informed setting.
• Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum, health topics, and emotional support strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to creating a supportive learning environment.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices is a plus.

Requirements

Pennsylvania Public School or Private School Certification in Physical Education/Health required (Public School preferred). Prior experience working with at-risk student populations encouraged but not required. Additional teaching certification areas a plus.
