Safe Passages is looking for compassionate, motivated individuals to serve as AmeriCorps Elev8 Members—supporting K–12 students in building confidence, resilience, and social emotional learning.
Responsibilities (Your Impact): Support student success by providing tutoring and education to K-12 students on subjects such as Reading, Writing and Math.
Build meaningful, positive connections with students through mentorship and daily engagement that support student’s academic and social-emotional growth.
Lead creative and engaging lesson plans, activities, games, and projects with students.
Collaborate with Safe Passages staff, teachers, school staff and other AmeriCorps members.
Support school events, family engagement nights, and community projects.
Assist in collecting and tracking data on outreach efforts and student support services.
Participate in regular trainings, team meetings, and professional development to enhance skills in community outreach, education, youth development, and leadership.
Twice monthly living allowance starting at: $1,157 (full-time) $868 (part-time) Segal AmeriCorps Education Award: $5,176 (full-time) $3,697 (part-time) Potential transportation stipend Application support for CalFresh, Covered CA, and other public benefits Health coverage and childcare reimbursement (full-time members only) Ongoing training and mentorship from experienced educators and community resource navigators.
