- Job Summary The Preschool Para/Aide supports the mission of St.
- Joseph Catholic Church, Josephville by providing a safe, nurturing, and faith-filled environment for preschool-aged children.
- This role combines classroom support with direct student care, assisting teachers in academic, social, and spiritual development while modeling Catholic values.
- Job Responsibilities Supervise and engage preschool students during classroom and extended care hours, ensuring safety, structure, and positive interactions.
- Support a Christ-centered environment by modeling Catholic values through words, actions, and daily routines.
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons, activities, crafts, and learning centers, including hands-on play and sensory experiences.
- Help with daily routines such as snack time, rest time, toileting, and transitions between activities, promoting independence and self-care skills.
- Monitor and support students’ social, emotional, and physical development, providing guidance, encouragement, and positive behavior management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, following school and state guidelines for health and safety.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff regarding student progress, needs, and classroom activities.
- Support classroom teachers with instructional and administrative tasks, including preparing materials and assisting during group activities.
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and health/safety protocols, including emergency preparedness and reporting requirements.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and trainings as required.
- Job Requirements Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a school, childcare, or similar setting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold professional boundaries with children, families, and staff.
- Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church and modeling faith-based values.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must pass background check and meet diocesan safe environment requirements.
