- SUPERVISOR: Director of Athletic Training/Head Athletic Trainer GENERAL JOB FUNCTION To assist in the planning, organization, coordination, and management of the Athletic Training Department. To assist in the management and delivery of athletic healthcare to the intercollegiate student-athletes. STANDARD EXPECTATIONS 1. To possess the understanding of and the commitment to the University Mission. 2. To be responsible for assisting in the development of policies and procedures for athletic training students. 3. To be responsible for clinical instruction and supervision of athletic training students. 4. To be responsible for assisting in the operation of the athletic training facilities. 5. To be responsible for overseeing programs for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. 6. To be responsible for coverage of athletic teams as assigned by the Director of Athletic Training/Head Athletic Trainer. 7. To be responsible for traveling with assigned athletic teams. 8. To be responsible for assisting in the management of the athletic accident insurance program. 9. To perform other duties/tasks as may be assigned and/or requested by the Director of Athletic Training/Head Athletic Trainer. DECISION MAKING AND MANAGEMENT On a regular and continuous basis exercises administrative judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results having an impact on people, costs, and/or quality of service within the department/division. Position directly supervises Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainers and athletic training students.
